The University offers the following grants and wavers:
1. Semi-wavered Grants
• Academic Excellence Grants
These are granted according to the following criteria:
i. The top student is granted 100% waver off the tuition fees of the following year, provided that his aggregate GPA is no less than 3 points.
ii. The second top student is granted a 75% waver off the tuition fees of the following year, provided that his aggregate GPA is no less than 2.75 points.
iii. The third top student is granted a 50% waver off the tuition fees of the following year, provided that his aggregate GPA is no less than 2.75 points.
iv. The top student of the Faculty of Performing Arts only is granted a 100% waver off the annual tuition fees, provided that his GPA is no less than 75%.
v. The Aggregate GPA is obtained based on the student’s grades in the first and second semesters.
vi. The student must be registered for the maximum number of credit hours according to the distribution of courses in the study plan for each semester and the number of registered hours must exceed /16/ credit hours.
vii. The student must not be subject to punishment throughout his university life.
viii. The student must not have withdrawn, been deprived or failed any course in the two semesters of the same year.
ix. In the event of a tie in the cumulative average, the number of registered hours is considered, and in the event of a tie in the average and the number of registered hours, the following decimal number is taken.
• Grants for Siblings
i. First and second brother/sister of an already registered sibling receive a 20% waver off the tuition fees (12 hours per semester)
ii. Third brother/sister of an already registered sibling receive a 25% waver off the tuition fees (12 hours per semester)
Fully-Wavered Grants:
• Grants Offered by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
The university offers fully-wavered grants (offered by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research) in accordance with the statement of the grants special decree concerning number of grants specified by the ministry.
• Grants for Martyr’s Siblings and Families
The university offers siblings and families of martyr’s fully-wavered grants covering the minimum years required for graduation in every specialty regarding undergraduate studies, based on their social economic status and secondary school average in accordance with the rules and regulations of the board of trustees.
• Grants Offered to Wounded Soldiers of the Army and Armed Forces and to their Offsprings:
The university offers siblings and families of Wounded Soldiers of the Army and Armed Forces and their Offsprings fully-wavered grants covering the minimum years required for graduation in every specialty regarding undergraduate studies, based on their social economic status and secondary school average in accordance with the rules and regulations of the board of trustees, and in co-ordination with “Jarih Al-Watan” program of the Syrian Trust For Development.
